Rug as Unsung Interior Essential/2025-12-12/0 Comments

When it comes to creating a space, the furniture and colours typically take the focal points, however, a rug quietly brings the balance and harmony for that seamless finish. More than just a decorative layer, it adds warmth, texture and personality to any space. Whether it is a neutral earthy tone or a vibrant pattern, we have you covered – introducing you to our new collection of rugs in a variety of sizes.
The first step to purchasing a rug is measuring the space you would like the rug to cover. You can mark the dimensions out to visualise how it will fit and whether it anchors your furniture. The rule of thumb is for key furniture pieces to rest partially or fully on the rug to balance the room. It’s better to size up to avoid the ‘floating look’ but leave a border of exposed flooring to frame the space.
We have 3 sizes to offer:
120 x 170cm – at the foot of the bed, in front of the dresser or as a runner through the hallway as accent pieces.
160 x 230cm – this works well in smaller living rooms, making the space feel cosier and unified. Place under the coffee table to define the seating area or make the entryway more inviting with a textured rug.
180 x 260cm – deemed as a large rug therefore for large areas: under a double bed for soft under footing in the early mornings, the dining room which ensures that all chairs remain on the rug even when pulled out or in the home office to make it feel more inviting.
Natural materials create timeless designs by themselves. All of our rugs are woven from either jute, PET, wool and polyester or cotton chenille for that softer feel. Chunky woven jute is eco-friendly with a strong durability in an earthy, natural tone making it the perfect material for adding texture. PET is extremely durable to withstand busy households due to its benefits of being eco-friendly, it also reduces landfill waste. Material is an important element when choosing your rugs, is it beside your bed for when you first wake up, a runner or to section your dining space. Would you prefer softness over durability? Handwoven wool and polyester or cotton chenille would be a better choice as it offers a cosy plush feel and is suited for low-medium use rooms such as the bedroom or causal lounging areas.
Neutral tones such as ivory, cool grey, beige and sand are forever favourite baselines for their ability to adapt with the times and blend most colour palettes. They can slip into any space and pair perfectly with rich accent walls, dark furniture or brightly patterned soft furnishings. Just like our subtle Ivory Pebble Boarder Rug or the Chunky Woven Jute Rug. Are you going for daring and bold or a timeless classic? Maximalism or Farmhouse? Bright bold patterns paired with simple designs throughout the space lets the rug get all the attention. Minimal effort. The Diamond Design Multi-Coloured Rug is the perfect example for maximalism or for that daring design you’ve been tempted by. A bold but less daring option would be the Brown Chenille Rug adding aged hues of brown, oranges, greys and blues into the room. This would pair nicely with soft blankets, table lamps and dark picture frames in the same tones for a cosy atmosphere.
Rugs bring the room in harmony, offering warmth and a touch of personality. They may not be the focal point but they silently define the interior. Which rug are you choosing?
