Dispatch Policy

While we endeavour to maintain accurate inventory levels, the availability of all items shown is not guaranteed, and this electronic publication should not be construed as a definitive offer for sale. Unless otherwise specified, orders are typically dispatched within 15 working days from the date of confirmation. For large items requiring specialised delivery, customers will be contacted to arrange a delivery date, typically within 48 hours before (Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays).

In the event that we are unable to fulfil your order within the standard 15 working days timeframe, you will be promptly notified via email with an estimated dispatch date. We are committed to fulfilling all orders within the delivery period outlined in the product description; however, unforeseen circumstances beyond our direct control may occasionally result in delays. These circumstances may include, but are not limited to, adverse weather conditions, technological disruptions, and significant increases in shipment volumes. International deliveries may also be subject to delays due to customs clearance procedures.

International Deliveries

We offer international delivery service on a quotation basis only. Customers wishing to arrange international shipping can request a quotation during the checkout process. We utilise reputable international couriers for the shipment of goods, with a typical delivery aim of 15-20 working days. Larger products destined for international addresses are typically shipped via pallet freight or sea freight, with delivery provided to the kerbside only. In certain instances, delivery to a designated sea port may offer a more cost-effective shipping solution.

Damage to Goods in Transit

Upon receipt of your delivery, it is imperative that you inspect all items for any signs of damage before acknowledging receipt with your signature. Should you be unable to conduct a thorough inspection at the time of delivery, you must indicate this on the delivery receipt by signing as “UNCHECKED” or “DAMAGED,” in accordance with the courier’s terms and conditions. Failure to do so with a clean signature may affect the validity of your transit insurance.

In the unfortunate event that goods are received damaged, you are required to notify us within 24 hours of the delivery time. Failure to report damage within this timeframe may invalidate your insurance coverage. To report damaged goods, please contact us via email at sa***@la************.uk or by telephone at 0800 133 7828.

For insurance claim purposes, photographic evidence of the damage will be required. Please ensure that clear photographs of the product and packaging are provided when submitting your claim.

Please note that all goods undergo thorough quality checks prior to dispatch to ensure they leave our premises in excellent condition. By proceeding with your purchase, you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions of our transit insurance policies. In cases where damage is reported and there is no indication on the delivery receipt or other evidence to suggest the damage occurred during transit, your insurance coverage may be invalidated by our insurers.

On Purchase of Goods you are agreeing to our Terms & Conditions of our transit insurance policies.

Prices and Tax

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the price displayed for goods is inclusive of standard postage and packing charges for Mainland UK addresses on most products. Please note that larger furniture items being shipped to Scotland may be subject to an additional delivery surcharge of £30.00.

To ascertain the precise delivery cost for any product, or if you have any uncertainty regarding shipping charges, please contact our sales team at sa***@la************.uk for clarification prior to placing your order.

For orders destined for locations outside of UK Mainland, including non-UK mainland addresses, please contact us to obtain a specific delivery quotation, as these shipments will incur additional charges.

All prices quoted are inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT). For orders being shipped outside the UK, the applicable VAT will be deducted from the total price. Customers should be aware that deliveries outside of the UK may be subject to import duties and taxes levied upon arrival of the goods. The recipient of the shipment will be solely responsible for the payment of any such import duties.

Cancellation and Returns

Right to Cancel: Customers have the statutory right to cancel their contract of sale, subject to the following conditions. Please be advised that a cancellation fee of 10% of the order value will be applied to cover costs incurred as a direct result of the cancellation.

Returns and Remedies: Customers may return the goods for a refund of the purchase price (excluding the delivery and return charges). A restocking fee of 10% of the returned goods’ value may be applied to returned items. The customer is responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us.

Return Arrangements: We can facilitate the return of goods via our delivery team at a pre-determined cost. Alternatively, customers may arrange their own return shipment. However, please note that we cannot accept liability for any damage incurred during return transit if the customer utilises their own transport method. For customer-arranged returns, we strongly recommend ensuring adequate insurance coverage is in place for the goods during transit.

Notification of Return: Prior to returning any goods, customers are required to notify us via email, detailing the intention to return the items and the reason for the return. This notification should be sent to our customer service email address.

Return Window and Condition: Returns will only be accepted if received within 14 days of the delivery date. To be eligible for a return, goods must be returned in their original packaging. If the original packaging is unavailable, returns may still be accepted, but will be subject to a 20% restocking fee based on the value of the goods.

Damaged Goods: Any damage to goods upon delivery must be reported on the day of delivery to ensure the validity of your transit insurance claim. Failure to report damage within 24hrs timeframe will invalidate the damage in transit cover.

Faulty or Unsatisfactory Goods: In the event that faulty goods are received or the quality is deemed unsatisfactory, we will endeavour to provide a replacement free of charge. Should a customer prefer to cancel the contract rather than receive a replacement, our standard returns policy, including the customer’s responsibility for delivery and return costs, will apply. If a replacement for a faulty product is not feasible, we will arrange for the return of the product and issue a full refund of the purchase price.

GDPR compliance statement

La Maison Chic respects and complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

Some of the key ways we comply with these regulations are:

Consent

We explain what you’re consenting to clearly and without ‘legalese’, and ask that you explicitly consent to contact from us.

Breach Notification

In the event of a breach we will notify affected users within 72 hours of first having become aware of the breach.

Right to Access

Users can request confirmation as to whether or not personal data concerning them is being processed, where and for what purpose. Further, we shall provide a copy of the personal data, free of charge, in an electronic format.

Right to be Forgotten

Once we have compared your (the subjects’) rights to “the public interest in the availability of the data”, we may delete your personal data (including telephone recordings) where you have requested this.

Data Portability

We allow you to receive the personal data concerning you, which we will provide in a ‘commonly used and machine readable format’ and you have the right to transmit that data to another ‘controller’.

Privacy by Design

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures, in an effective way, in order to meet the requirements of this Regulation and protect the rights of data subjects’. We hold and process only the data absolutely necessary for the completion of our duties (data minimisation), as well as limiting the access to personal data to those needing to act out the processing.

Underfloor Heating

We don’t recommend placing wooden furniture directly on top of underfloor heating due to potential damage from heat and humidity. Underfloor heating creates specific environmental conditions that can damage wood. The core reasons are related to heat and humidity changes, which affect wood as a natural material. The primary concern is drying out and shrinkage of wood. This shrinkage can lead to: Cracks and Splits (especially in solid wood panels, tabletops, or legs), Loose Joints (glued joints, common in furniture construction, can dry out and become brittle, causing them to loosen or separate), Warping (the wood can deform or twisting, leading to uneven surfaces), Drawers and Doors Sticking (they might become difficult to open or close smoothly due to the changes in the wood’s dimensions).
